Because bearded, fearless men remind us of one of our current favorite topics - Death. We are fascinated by this since it is the one subject that truly emphasizes the wonders of being alive and the mystery of what, if anything, lies ahead. Deepak Chopra writes in Life After Death;
After death we gradually stop being local. We see ourselves as we really are from the soul's perspective: everywhere at once. This adjustment is probably the biggest obstacle any of us will encounter in the astral planes. Right now you are the center of the universe because infinity extends in all directions, yet someone on the other side of the world is also at the center of the universe, because infinity extends on all sides of him, too. If both of you are centers of the universe, you must both be at the same location. The fact that you appear to be in different places is a sensory artefact. It's based on sights and sounds, which are local events. You are not a local event.
No,we're probably not. But we still love boys, or as Chopra puts it;
... souls aren't drifting through the astral atmosphere but are directed by love itself. Love is a vibration, older than humanity itself. But the principle of directedness is very human: we go where our deepest desires take us.

Because when changing trains we got a pamphlet from some Latter Day Saint-type with the title AIDS and the BLOOD. In it you could read some very riveting information;
If you get AIDS, death is sure. [Compared to our otherwise eternal lives.] However, there is something at work in your body right now that is deadlier than AIDS. The Bible calls it SIN -- and it is in your blood.

Yes, we can feel it pumping in our veins and boy, do we love it!

In our field studies we've noticed a distinctive difference between the Swedish vs. American perception of the term "I wanna make out with you all the time". There are always exceptions to the rule, but in general this is what it's like:

An American thinks "Great!", interpretating "all the time" as "whenever I like" or "as long as I want to".
A Swede on the other hand, he gets a bit nervous.
"ALL the time...?" he ponders. In accordance to his honest and serious nature, he wonders if this means that he has to quit his job, stop seeing his friends and give up all other pleasures in life. In his mind, this is a way too big responsibility and does best in avoiding whoever put so much pressure on his poor soul.

Needless to say, we prefer dudes who appreciate a simple compliment and take themselves less seriously.

After carefully studying our calcium-nourished bones,
they'll find enclosed our hearts of stone.
Singing the cold Swedish winter is right outside,
and I just want somebody to hold me through the night.

After a box and a half of Six Feet Under we are now aware that the youth is not wasted on the young, but life is wasted on the living. Let's not agree with that and frequently make blueberry pancake boys for breakfast in full appreciation of our hearts beating.

And remember the old saying "A morning of awkwardness is better than a night of loneliness", paying attention to the fact that pancakes can never be awkward.

One of many good reason why we would rather be in Brooklyn right now.

We just died.
(To the sound of summer winds and with a taste of wild strawberries in our mouths.)
